There are a lot of ways Wesley Keating could be described, and pretty much all of them are "totally harmless." He's a short, skinny, slightly scatterbrained nerd who tends to mother everything, literally wouldn't hurt a fly, and seems a bit oblivious to reality. He's very friendly and talks a whole lot - to anyone around or to himself if there isn't anyone. He likes tea and good books, and has a fondness for corgis and terrible puns (which would explain his dog, Johan Sebastian Bark). He's a happy, enthusiastic mutant researcher who's been at it since the birth of the field, still thinks everything is fascinating, and seems to have zero awareness about how anything Grey Laboratories is doing might impact the rest of the world.
He's also a fairly good actor, even if he says so himself! Even Johan agrees, though that was likely only because Wesley was eating bacon at the time and Johan would have agreed to anything by that point, really -
See, Wesley is a mutant researcher. As in, a mutant who is in the business of researching. What better way to keep track of how much everyone's found out, how much they know, and what exactly they're using everything for, and to protect innocent people like him, than to be right in there himself? And maybe stop the labs from stumbling across anything very important, or finding ways to turn everything into a weapon? Oops, misplaced a record here. Oh dear, accidentally deleted a file there. And my, the media does find a way to find out everything, don't they? There's been a breakout? Oh no!
He's been doing this for over 25 years.
